Denture slip ups

There are thousands of people who experience problems with their dentures, some of these problems are caused by dentures that have not been replaced in years whilst others have not been well made or fitted properly in the first place.

Dentures that slip out or move around easily in the mouth are usually due to changes in your mouth. Over time your bone and gum ridges will shrink which causes your jaws to meet differently. When this happens dentures will need to be replaced as they will not fit correctly. Dentures will not last forever but can last for up to seven years, it really depends on the care you take with them. Loose dentures will be very uncomfortable and can cause sore spots in the mouth. Everyday functions like talking and eating will be difficult. As soon as your dentures feel loose you should get them checked out immediately.

Eating is another problem many people call us about. This can be caused when dentures are mass produced. Teeth that are not set and aligned correctly will result in an incorrect bite which makes eating a very difficult process.

The way dentures look is a very common problem for a lot of people. They say their teeth really do look false which is not something they want to smile about.

Dentures that are handmade and crafted for each individual will always fit much better than cheaper mass produced dentures. Having a well fitted set of dentures will alleviate most denture issues. Handmade dentures will also look more natural too.

Here at The Smile Centre UK we make beautiful handcrafted dentures that look so natural nobody would know they weren't your natural teeth. New materials and state-of-the-art techniques allow The Smile Centre UK to create the perfect natural looking dentures for every patient.
