Is your smile covered?

Most people will have insurance for their home, their car, their jewellery, even their pets, but I speak to many patients that do not have insurance for their dentures. This surprises me, as accidents do happen, and as this story shows, dentures can get lost, even in hospital!

In fact, this article shows that dentures are the most common things left in hotel rooms. I know what you're probably thinking, how could you possibly check out from a hotel with no teeth in? Well I didn't write the report, but clearly people are leaving dentures behind.

Dentures should be insured. You invest time and money ensuring you have the best possible smile, and whilst you will take the best possible care of your new smile it is better to be protected as you don't know what could happen.

Taking care of your dentures is really important which is why I always advise patients on a good denture care routine  to follow to ensure you get the best from them. However, accidents can happen. If you drop them in the basin they could crack, which is why I always advise when cleaning dentures you place a flannel or hand towel in the basin.
