Crooked Teeth Straightening

Whilst many people are born with crooked teeth there are lots of others whose teeth have become crooked as they’ve aged. This is caused through the structure of the mouth changing as we age, and also tooth loss which can cause movement in the remaining teeth. Apart from the way they look, crooked teeth can lead to tooth decay and difficulty chewing.

There are several cosmetic dental treatments available that can be used to straighten crooked teeth.

Teeth Braces

Braces gradually exert pressure on the teeth which moves them into place. Many people rule out braces because of the way they look. Lingual braces however fit to the back of your teeth rather the front so may be an alternative option for you.

Teeth Aligners

Aligners work in a similar way to braces but look so much better. They apply pressure to the teeth in order to move and straighten them but do so much more quickly than traditional braces. Some aligners are able to get results in half the estimated time of traditional braces. Invisalign and Inman aligners are almost completely unnoticeable so are becoming increasingly popular for the treatment of straightening teeth.

Porcelain Veneers

Many people choose the option as it is one of the quickest ways to fix crooked teeth. Veneers are wafer thin shells of porcelain that are cemented to the front of your teeth covering several imperfections in one go. Porcelain veneers are sometimes more appropriate than teeth straightening when teeth look crooked because of damages such as chipped or broken teeth.
