Is cosmetic dental treatment painful?
Here at The Smile Centre UK we always try and make your experience as relaxed as possible. If you do require a local anaesthetic however we will ensure this is done with minimum discomfort to yourself.
What treatments are available for stained teeth?
There are few treatments available for stained or discoloured teeth depending on the type of staining if they are from tea, coffee, smoking, red wine or other food stuffs that is consumed over a long period of time. Teeth whitening or veneers can usually remove the stains leaving you with a brighter whiter smile.

How to get a chipped tooth fixed?
If your tooth is chipped, you should get it examined by a dentist in order to asses if the damage can be cosmetic or if the root is affected. Depending on if its root that has been affected or a small chip it may require different treatment. Chipped tooth can either be fixed by veneers which works similarly like false nails, it is like a wafer thin tooth-coloured laminates that are "cemented" to the front of teeth to improve the appearance of the teeth.
Other alternative is crowns, which is an artificial restoration that fits over the remaining part of a tooth in order to make it stronger and to give it a natural tooth shape.

Gum contouring which is a procedure where the excess gum overlaying the teeth is trimmed away and the remaining gum is reshaped. This is done through the use of a laser or scalpel. The laser treatment will seal the blood vessels which makes the healing process a lot quicker.
